Our Bohemian rustic series uses sustainable textiles. It's called 100% solution-dyed fabric, which makes it the best choice after Sunbrella if you have a limited budget. We also ensure that your umbrella works functionally.
Why is 100% solution dyed fabric so special?
Polyester, a man-made fabric, starts off as a liquid. When it's solution-dyed, the color dye gets mixed in while it's still a liquid before it's cooled down and turned into yarn. This means the color is basically built into the fibers themselves.
On the flip side, the usual way of dyeing starts with making the fiber first, and then the color is added afterward. The fiber starts off without any color and then gets dipped into dye to get the right fabric color.
Why do we use it?
When you solution-dye something, the color goes all the way through the fabric, not just on the surface. This means the fabric keeps its qualities better than if it was just dyed on the outside, especially when it's out in harsh weather like strong sunlight. Solution-dyed polyester is made to be a high-performance fabric that won't fade, bleed color, or get stained easily.
Why Is it better for the environment?
The solution dyeing process doesn't require liquid dyeing, rinsing, or machine drying, which means it can save both water and energy. Traditional dyed fabric or yarn needs to be washed repeatedly with hot water, which requires a large amount of water and electricity for draining during the process. Solution-dyeing technology reportedly saves up to 60-90 percent in water usage, and offers a significant reduction in CO2 emissions, compared to conventional dyeing.
